The “Refit” Model

How We Lower Your Investment and Open Faster

When you look at auto repair franchises, many “big box” franchises push a “new construction” model. They want you to find a pad site, build a new shop from the ground up, and spend millions before the doors even open.

We think there’s a smarter, faster, and more flexible way to build your auto repair shop franchise business.

At All Tune, our primary strategy is the “Refit” Model. We focus on keeping your start-up costs down and your time-to-open shorter by refitting an existing facility. This approach is a major reason our total estimated initial investment, including the franchise fee, training, and 6 months of operating funds, is $245,000 to $470,000. This is a fraction of what a new build can cost.

OUR APPROACH: TURN OVER EVERY ROCK

Our site selection philosophy is simple: we “turn over every rock,” “balance cost, time, and market,” and “be flexible and creative”. This opens three distinct paths to ownership, giving you the flexibility to find the right opportunity in your market:

  1. The “Empty Shop” Rebrand (Upgrades & Trade Dress): This is the classic refit. You find a strategically located, existing auto shop that is no longer in operation. The building and bays are already there. Your investment goes into upgrades and trade dress like new equipment, signage, and a lobby refresh to bring it up to the All Tune standard. This is often the fastest path to opening.
  1. The “Operating Shop” Acquisition (Business Acquisition / Rebrand): In many markets, the best opportunity is acquiring an existing, independent shop where the owner is ready to retire. You get an established location, a trained staff, and an existing customer base from Day 1. We help you rebrand the business as All Tune, upgrade the systems, and implement our service-first model to grow its revenue.
  1. The “New Construction” Option (Pad Site or Rebuild): While our focus is on refits, we are still flexible. In some high-growth markets, the best long-term play may be a new construction build on a pad site. We have the team and experience to support this path, too, ensuring you balance the higher cost with the market’s potential.

HOW WE HELP YOU CHOOSE: A PARTNERSHIP IN SITE SELECTION

The refit model works because it’s paired with a disciplined, hands-on site selection process. You won’t have to figure out the location puzzle alone.

We will work directly with you and your commercial broker to analyze every opportunity for your auto repair franchise. In most markets, you’ll be choosing between several viable options, each with tradeoffs.

  • A candidate may be choosing between three promising sites.
  • One may offer a fast opening but has fewer bays.
  • Another has exceptional visibility but a higher lease.
  • A third is perfectly sized but in a quieter commercial corridor.

Our job is to be your strategic partner, helping you weigh those tradeoffs and evaluate which opportunity (cost, time, and market) best aligns with your personal and financial goals.

WHY THIS MATTERS: SPEED TO MARKET

This flexible, “refit-first” approach is what allows our typical franchisee to get their shop open in 6-12 months.

Instead of spending two years and millions of dollars on a new build, you can be open, generating revenue, and building trust in your community in half the time.
